On February 8th 2021 we lost our precious son, Samuel Decorian Thompson-Hunsberger, to a Fentanyl poisoning. Cory was a free spirited, intelligent and precocious young man. Cory was only 24 years old. He had his whole life ahead of him and was just starting to figure things out. There are evil forces at work in our community and across our great nation that are intent on eliminating our most valuable resource, our youth. They hide their poison in pharmaceutical and recreational drugs and will lay waste to anyone who crosses their path. It is believed Cory died from only half of a pill called “Roxy” and we have heard many more testimonies claiming the same fate of others. Our mission with The Spirit of Decorian Fund is to raise awareness through our story and the story of others about this grave threat to our society. We also pledge to help educate youth in our community and beyond about the risks of the drug culture that has become too accepted in our society. We would also like to help those trying to help themselves out of addiction and depression created by substance abuse and other societal factors. To raise an alarm and spread our message we will host an annual Spirit of Decorian Music Festival featuring local musicians. We believe in the power of music as a catalyst to spread our message and also in its holistic healing capabilities. We will be forever grateful if you would join us in our fight against this horrible epidemic. May God bless you and shine his light upon you.

Sincerely,

The Hunsberger Family
